Earlier this year, Lamborghini released the Huracán Spyder LP610-4 (with drive sent to all four wheels). Now, it has taken the covers off the Spyder LP580-2, a rear-wheel-drive variant of the current Huracán.
Visually, the Huracán Spyder unexpectedly lends plenty from its coupe sibling, with aggressive front and rear bumpers. The roof mechanism can be operated at speeds up to 50 km/h and can be opened or closed in just 17 seconds.
Powering this version of the Huracán Spyder is the familiar naturally aspirated 5,2-litre V10 delivering 426 kW and 540 N.m of torque to the rear wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Acceleration from 0-100 km/h takes 3,6 seconds, with top speed coming in at 319 km/h.
Overall, the Spyder weighs in (dry) at 1 509 kg thanks to liberal use of hybrid aluminium and carbon-fibre in the chassis.
Lamborghini has not revealed an official price, but it has stated that it will be positioned between the two- and four-wheel drive coupe models.
