Ingelheim is the HQ of Senner Tuning who has been a tuner of distinction for over three decades. Its latest bit of work uses the Volkswagen T6 Caravelle as the basis, comprehensively reworking and customising the van both aesthetically and technically.
Senner’s modifications start with the replacement of the standard suspension with a KW DDC plug and play coilover suspension system, allowing the driver to select Comfort, Normal and Sport modes at the touch of a button while the system also reduces the pronounced sideways tilt and tendency of the bus to understeer, both caused by the vehicle’s high center of gravity. Sport stabilizers on both axles also aid this.
Barracuda Racing Wheels’ Ultralight Series Project 3,0 light alloy wheels improve both looks and driving dynamics. These 20-inch weight-optimized flow formed rims weigh just 12,5 kg each, yet they are able to handle loads of up to 875 kg, translating to a saving of around 45 kg of unsprung and rotating mass compared with conventional cast rims of the same size.
Power of the 2,0-litre four-cylinder TDI engine’s output has been raised from the stock vehicle’s 110 kW and 350 Nm to 146kW and 445 Nm and things in the aural department are handled by a Maxhaust Active Sound System which can be configured according to personal taste via a smartphone app.
The T6 has undergone a strict dechroming on the exterior, including the front and rear VW emblems which are now black. Blue painted brake callipers sit behind the gloss black rims with Senner’s signature blue and white livery finishing off the exterior styling.
