Toyota has whipped the wraps off a brand-new concept previewing the future of the Corolla.

Following the release of renderings previewing what shape the future, 13th-generation Corolla could take, Toyota has fully revealed the prototype version at the 2025 Japan Mobility Show ahead of this long-standing nameplate’s 60th anniversary in 2026.
Compared to the previous Corolla generations, the concept adopts a futuristic design language, as well as introducing a variety of powertrains – including all-electric, plug-in hybrid (PHEV), and hybrid – to the package. The bodywork is defined by pencil-sharp lines and smooth panels. An elongated windscreen, full-width LED taillamp array, and 21-inch Y-spoke alloy wheels are also present.
The minimalistic cabin plays host to a “floating” centre console, replete with a rather neat drive selector, which is in the shape of a car. The cabin also sports a dual display (for infotainment and instrumentation, respectively) setup and ambient lighting. While the digital driver’s display is sited fore the steering wheel, the infotainment unit is positioned on the front passenger’s side.
This isn’t the only car the Japanese automaker showcased at the 2025 Japan Mobility show, though. However, among the variety, which included a model from the firm’s new Century luxury sub-brand, the new FJ Cruiser, which has been confirmed for SA, arguably drew the most attention from attendees.
