Everyone loves a good old story of fitting a big engine into a small body to receive some crazy results. Popular (and somewhat approved) BMW tuning house AC Schnitzer thought it would be a good idea to fit the M4’s twin-turbo 3,0-litre straight-six engine with a few mods into the smaller body of the M235i with the intention to take on the likes of the Ferrari 488 and Porsche 911 GT3 RS.
In terms of visuals, the ACL2 has been made to look a lot more aggressive thanks to a striking green bodypaint, flared wheel arches, front splitter and rear spoiler, M4 derived exhausts and massive orange 20-inch alloy wheels. The interior has also been given some serious revisions with the removal of the rear seats, addition of two front bucket seats, lots of green leather and some special AC Schnitzer pedals.
AC Schnitzer hasn’t provided any power figures for its concept but through modifications, the ACL2 is capable of using the M4’s powerplant to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3,9 seconds and reach a top speed of 330 km/h.
But the ACL2 isn’t just about straight-line speed. For stopping purposes it has been fitted with 400 mm front and 380 mm rear carbon ceramic disk brakes and for cornering stability AC Schnitzer makes use of its own Clubsport suspension and swaps the standard axles for a modified set sourced from the M4.
Seeing as the ACL2 is just a concept the tuning house has confirmed that it will not be for sale as its main intention is to showcase AC Schnitzer’s capabilities at this year’s Geneva Motor Show.
