The Volkswagen Caddy has long been known for its practicality. However, Reflex Auto Design, a tuning company based in the United Kingdom, has revealed a modified version of the German automaker’s multi-purpose vehicle, sacrificing practicality for performance.

Under the bonnet, the standard 2,0-litre turbodiesel engine this Caddy previously employed has been replaced with a turbo-petrol mill from a Golf V GTI Edition 30. For the record, the special 30-year anniversary edition of the fifth-generation Golf GTI was more powerful than the standard model, with its 2,0-litre turbocharged engine churning out 22 kW more than the original model’s 147 kW.

The Daventry-based company, however, did not stop there and uprated the Golf GTI Edition 30-sourced engine as well. The MPV you see here, donning Ara blue paintwork, now produces a whopping 265 kW and 280 N.m. But not only has the engine been worked on, the Volkswagen Caddy R360 has also received additional mechanical upgrades, such as revised suspension, a performance clutch and a titanium exhaust system.

To indicate the Caddy R360 is built for performance rather than practicality, it has been fitted with the imposing front bumper of a Volkswagen Golf R. The same goes for the rear item, where the twin exhaust outlets exit in the middle.

Climb inside and you'll find a large roll-cage, finished in the same hue as the exterior, as well as Alcantara-clad bucket seats (replete with blue contrast stitching) and racing harnesses.
