With a name like “Carbonfiber Dynamics”, there’s only one sort of lightweight material this German tuner was going to throw (seemingly by the bucket-load) at its latest fettled BMW M4.
But, despite the so-called M4R’s carbon-fibre front bumper, side-skirts, diffuser and rear wing, this special M4 is also packing some serious heat under its (also carbon-fibre) GTS-style bonnet.
Yes, the 3,0-litre turbocharged inline-six has been tuned to deliver a whopping 522 kW and 860 N.m (up from the standard 317 kW and 550 N.m), which translates to a sprint from 100 km/h to 200 km/h of just 5,9 seconds. The tuner has, however, refrained from providing a 0-100 km/h time. Pity.
Interestingly, the powerplant has also gained a methanol-injection system, aluminium charge-pipes, carbon intake, revised turbochargers and an Akrapovič downpipe. The clutch and brakes have also been upgraded, while a Bilstein suspension setup replaces the original. A set of 19-inch forged wheels (covered in semi-slick Toyo rubber) completes the package.
The M4R, which features a GT4-style body wrap, serves as a showcase of the plethora of options offered by the Dortmund-based tuner. And, yes, that includes the (you, guessed it) carbon-fibre roof-box…
