Earlier this year, Toyota took the wraps off the facelifted 86. Now, the Japanese brand’s in-house tuner has released an extensive list of modifications for the updated rear-wheel drive sports car.
Toyota Racing Development (TRD) has created a whole host of upgrades, including a black front splitter and a fresh set of LED daytime running lights.
The facelifted Toyota 86 can also be kitted out with new side-skirts and a fairly subtle rear spoiler. Well, subtle in comparison to the carbon-fibre rear wing also available. A new rear bumper is also on the list, along with a set of in-your-face quad exhaust pipes.
Other styling modifications include new alloy wheel options, as well as a host of more subtle updates, from (questionable) fender vent inserts to black accents below the windows.
Under the skin, TRD is also offering adjustable coilovers, a front tower brace, an underbody brace set, a mechanical limited-slip differential and even a new clutch plate.
In the cabin, the company offers a choice of full bucket or sports seats, as well as a few other TRD-branded bits and bobs. Interestingly, the infotainment system can be replaced by a meter kit, which includes gauges for water temperature, oil pressure and oil temperature.
At the moment, the TRD parts are available only through Toyota dealers in Japan, although we can expect at least a few of the options to make their way to other parts of the world when the facelifted Toyota 86 rolls out globally.
