Tuner beefs up Ford F-150, improves off-road chops

For the past 10 years, RTR Vehicles has been developing tuning kits for the Ford Mustang. Now the US-based tuning company wants to pay more attention to the bakkie segment … starting with this package for the F-150.

Set to be available for all trim levels except the Raptor, the package ostensibly improves the F-150’s capability on- and off-road.

The signature RTR upper grille (with LED lighting), the obligatory fender flares, a more robust front skidplate and special decals are included. RTR badging for the fenders, all-season floor liners and wheel lug nuts complete with tyre-pressuring monitoring sensors.

To appease the dune-bashers, the RTR F-150 also sports a Fox 2,0 coilover and shock package alongside a set of custom 20-inch RTR Tech 6 off-road wheels painted in satin charcoal and wrapped in Nitto Ridge Grapplers. The powertrain is largely untouched but does gain a performance cat-back sports exhaust.

Changes to the cabin are relatively minor, and include a dash plaque signed by RTR head Vaughn Gittin Jr. and optional RTR-branded leather upholstery.
