Don’t be fooled by that striking Panamericana grille (a feature reserved for Mercedes-AMG’s fastest models). The car you’re looking at here is in fact a tuned version of the Stuttgart-based automaker's C43 sedan, courtesty of the folks over at German firm Performmaster.
Now bearing an "S" suffix (another additon you won't see on the standard model), the C43's twin-turbo 3,0-litre V6's original peak outputs of 287 kW and 520 N.m of torque have been hiked to a whopping 338 kW and 610 N.m. Power is still delivered to the wheels via an AMG Speedshift TCT 9G-tronic transmission.
A bespoke aerodynamic kit is also included, featuring a revised front splitter and a boot-mounted spoiler lip. Exterior updates remain subtle, with the most notable being the tuner's logo scattered round the car.
The Plüderhausen-based company says thanks to the improved outputs, together with the grip offered by the rear-biased 4Matic all-wheel-drive system and the updated aerodynamic package, the C43 S will reach the 100 km/h mark from standstill in 4,0 seconds, which is some seven-tenths quicker than Mercdedes-Benz's claimed figure for the C43.
It's also worth noting that's just one-tenth slower than the range-topping C63 S, which employs a twin-turbo 4,0-litre V8 engine producing 375 kW and 700 N.m.
Performmaster claims the C43 S is able to achieve a top speed of 285 km/h.
