Many of us think of the Mercedes-AMG G63 when the Mercedes’s G-wagon is mentioned. However, this is still a serious off road machine which offers other model derivatives than the crazy AMG version.
In Germany Mercedes-Benz has released a new model. Called the G 350 d Professional, it is totally aimed at the buyer who intends to drive down the road less travelled.
Exterior details include a matte black grille, headlight protectors and 16-inch wheels with a black finish.
Underneath this G-wagon is fitted with revised suspension which also offers a minor 1 cm higher ground clearance. The result is an approach angle of 36 degrees.
Inside some of the usual luxuries have been ditched such as the wood trim and infotainment system. However, it is still fairly luxurious inside with the usual Mercedes-Benz trim including the multifunction steering wheel and electrically adjustable seats.
Under the square bonnet is the 3,0-litre, V6 turbodiesel engine developing 182 kW and 600 N.m. Torque is send to all four wheels via the 7G-Tronic Plus transmission, while there are three (front, rear and centre) differentials that can be locked.
The dash to 100 km/h is said to take 8,8 seconds, while top speed is just below 160 km/h.
