Volkswagen in the United Kingdom has revealed a new Sportline Black Edition version of the Transporter T6.1 series.
The upgrade will be available in that country in both short- and long-wheelbase form, and as either a Kombi or a panel van (the latter is pictured).
The “Sportline” badge brings with it a host of sporty exterior and interior styling details. For instance, the front-end gains a red contrast grille strip (just like the GTI) and a new bumper, while at the rear you’ll find a cheeky spoiler.
In addition, the Wolfsburg-based firm has lowered the suspension by 30 mm and added illuminated side bars. You’ll also likely notice the gloss black 18-inch alloys. The interior upgrades to Nappa leather and suede trim with honeycomb stitching, plus “Sportline” logos.
The Sportline Black Edition, meanwhile, takes things a step further with a model-specific exclusive alloy wheel colour, matte-black side bars, Eibach coilover suspension, “Black Edition” decals, 90 percent rear window tints (on Kombi models), a larger touchscreen and a Sportline gift box.
In the UK, the Transporter’s range-topping 150 kW 2,0-litre TDI engine (with seven-speed DSG transmission) ships standard, allowing a sprint from zero to 100 km/h in a claimed 8,9 seconds.
