Volkswagen looks set to use the upcoming Beijing motor show to preview its next-generation Touareg SUV.
The sleek-looking new model looks set to carry the hybrid torch from the likes the current Passat and Golf GTE variants and feature extensive use of electric propulsion in order to supplement more traditional turbopetrol drivetrains.
Adding allure to these teaser images is the fact that Volkswagen claims its Beijing-bound concept will offer 280 kW of combined power, with 700 N.m or torque on hand. While 0-100 km/h is claimed to be achievable in less than 6-seconds the vehicle is also capable (under ideal conditions) of traveling up to 50 km on electric power alone.
Also likely to feature heavily in its new flagship SUV is Volkswagen’s latest take on interactive in car connectivity.
The Beijing motor show run from 25 April to 4 May 2016.
