The new Volkswagen Caddy, revealed earlier this year, has just been introduced to the crossover look. The new Alltrack is set to be the replacement of the Cross Caddy that we currently have in our long-term fleet. This replacement will be a tall order for the Alltrack because of how impressive the Cross Caddy has been thus far.
The Alltrack Caddy will be available in both panel van and passenger formats and will feature an active set of 17-inch alloy wheels and black trim panels along the arches, sills and bumpers. The Alltrack has also been given chrome trimmings across the front grille. Alltrack logos, silver roof rails and smoked taillights are other cosmetic changes that we will see added to this edition. Protection has been provided to the undercarriage for roughed terrains as well.
Inside, the Alltrack will be given more of a roughed makeover as well. Seats will be upholstered with a durable Pillion fabric while steering wheel and handbrake trimmings will be covered in leather with Muscat-accented stitching. Folding tables attached to the front seats will also be included for the passengers. This adventurous theme will be completed with aluminum pedals and Alltrack themed carpets. The Alltrack will also attain the five-inch touchscreen seen across the Volkswagen line-up.
The engine range of the Alltrack will match that of the standard Caddy. The 1,0, 1,2 and 1,4 TSI engines will be the petrol based options while the 2,0 TDI will be the only diesel. Depending on the engine selection the Alltrack will also have the option of Volkswagen’s seven-speed DSG transmission and their 4MOTION all-wheel drive system.
Expect to see the Alltrack on display at the Frankfurt International Motorshow this month. Local pricing and release dates will be listed once they are made available.
