Scheduled for a grand reveal on Friday afternoon, May 31st, at 4:30 p.m., the Golf GTI Clubsport promises to be the epitome of power and precision. Boasting a revamped design, the facelifted model features a striking front end, an illuminated VW emblem, and enhanced LED lighting units. Notable exterior enhancements include more aggressive fins on the front bumper intakes, a larger roof spoiler, and a beefier diffuser adorned with dual Akrapovic exhaust pipes. Rolling on 19-inch Queenstown alloys, the Clubsport exudes an aura of athleticism and refinement.
Stepping inside, drivers are greeted with a new multifunction leather sports steering wheel and an updated Infotainment system, now integrated with the latest voice assistant IDA, featuring Chat GPT integration. Additionally, an exclusive Special driving profile tailored for the demanding curves of the Nürburgring Nordschleife promises an unparalleled driving experience.
While technical specifications are kept under wraps, Volkswagen assures enthusiasts of a “powerful drive and high-end sports suspension.” In its previous iteration, the turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine delivered 221 kW, coupled with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and an eLSD, ensuring exhilarating performance on the road.

In a nod to its racing pedigree, Volkswagen introduces the Golf GTI Clubsport 24h, set to compete at the Nürburgring using E20 fuel. This formidable racer features an aerodynamic package, including a widebody kit and a TCR-style rear wing. Powered by an upgraded version of the 2.0 TSI engine, producing 256 kW and 450 N.m of torque, the Clubsport 24h showcases Volkswagen’s commitment to sustainability with its use of E20 bioethanol fuel, aimed at reducing CO2 emissions.
Among the lineup are three meticulously crafted Mk1 Golf GTI racers, each poised to make their mark at the prestigious German endurance race. One particular standout features a unique camouflage design, mirroring the aesthetic of the Golf GTI Clubsport teaser and paying homage to the rich heritage of the Golf hatchback.
