This virtually designed VW Polo STO is inspired by the Lamborghini Huracan STO that looks ready to take on any track with its butch aesthetics. Brought into the virtual world by ‘bimbledesigns’, they released visuals of the Polo STO on their Instagram page.
This super hatch has Lamborghini DNA all over it. You can immediately pick up the resemblance at first glance, from the angular shape of the front and rear bumpers, side skirts, front LED light signatures, rear wing and the famous Lamborghini hood vent. The designer also chose an iconic blue and orange two-tone colour palette that originated from the Lamborghini STO to reinforce the link.
The VW Polo GTI came a long way, the first branded GTI Polo was released by Volkswagen in 1995 and it has gradually evolved as the years went by, it certainly got better with time from the new technology, power, safety, comfort and design. After 27 years, the new generation Polo GTI comes with a bigger engine, which means more power and torque. The new Polo GTI offers a 2,0-litre turbocharged engine, producing 147 kW and 320 N.m of torque. According to Volkswagen South Africa, the new Polo GTI will do 0 – 100 km/h in 6,5 seconds and has a top speed of 240 km/h.
The Lamborghini Huracan STO, on the other hand, is a complete beast of a hatch that was virtually designed to feel like a race car but in a road-legal model. Lamborghini is a well-known supercar manufacturer that produces high-performance vehicles, and the Huracan STO is one of the most notable examples of the Italian bull’s longstanding ferocity. The Huracan STO has a 5,2-litre v10 engine that produces 470 kW and 565 N.m of torque. 0 – 100 km/h is 3.0 seconds and a top speed of 310 km/h, which – when compared to the Aventador SVJ – outperforms in nearly every regard. The Huracan STO offers great motorsport technology that improves breaking power and a new tweaked suspension that makes it more responsive.
This digital rendition and medley of a South African classic and Italian supercar exude the energy of a teenager’s “what if…” idea. Unfortunately, until someone with deep pockets and a lot of time on their hands decides they need an VW Polo STO, this digital deity will remain completely virtual.
