The Amarok has experienced a successful run since its release just six years ago as somewhat of a leisure bakkie. Now, Volkswagen has decided that the premium pickup is due for a facelift which it will be officially revealed within the next few weeks. In the meantime the German manufacturer has leaked these three images to give everyone an idea of what to expect.
The facelift shows us both an external and internal design revision with this Amarok utilising VW’s current design scheme. The lines are now square and geometric and it bears a fascia with a strong resemblance to other Volkswagen products as well as an anti-scuff plate similar to the one seen on the Caddy Alltrack.
Things on the inside have also been modernised. It gains a higher positioned touchscreen infotainment system, angular chrome tipped air vents and a reconfigured button layout.
Volkswagen hasn’t given any indication on the engine options but it’s not likely that anything mechanical will change from the current Amarok range.
As mentioned before, expect more information on this facelift to be revealed in the next few weeks.
