The ludicrous front-engined grand tourer from the stables of the Prancing Horse released in May last year and now the limited production, track focused version of the Superfast has taken to the streets. Get a closer look of the Ferrari 812 Competizione Aperta and listen to possibly one of the last pure naturally-aspirated creations from Maranello.
Delivery of the limited edition models will go ahead slightly later than expected, with all 999 Ferrari 812 Competizione and 599 Ferrari 812 Competizione Aperta models selling out rather quickly. The new caretakers of these V12 monstrosities are set to receive them in Q4 of 2022 but some lucky pedestrian and road users in the locale of Maranello were lucky enough to hear the latest GTs trundling down the road in some real-world testing scenarios.
Two were spotted by Varryx while spying outside the front gate of the Ferrari factory. The first of which was a full white spec with black details, wheels and calipers while the second was finished in black with silver rims and black calipers. Who needs a Ferrari with a red lick of paint after all!
The Ferrari 812 Competizione Aperta features a 6.5-litre V12 which produces a ludicrous 610 kW and 692 N.m without the assistance of forced induction. Competizione models also have significantly improved aerodynamic upgrades for its track use while an independent four-wheel steering system has been introduced for added agility.
Unfortunately none of this is really portrayed in the video as the high performance model is required to keep it respectful on the public roads but if its predecessors are anything to go by it should be capable of providing as sweet a symphony as ever.
