This golden hour photoshoot didn’t necessarily capture the most artistic sunset shots but instead a pair of Honda’s venerable front-wheel drive hot hatch. The duo of Type Rs snapped cruising along Japanese roads also shows off the rear lighting signature amidst the busy evening traffic.
The illuminated roadway and impressive surrounding infrastructure isn’t the focal point of the embedded video below, but rather Hondas 2023 hot hatch which is close to its international debut later this month. This is hence why the two Type R’s snapped here are wearing similar camo to some of its previous outings in public spaces. These test prototypes, with licence plates marked 1 and 2 are probably worth far more than a standard second hand Civic Type R and will find a resting place for testing at Honda or within their museum once the model is officially unveiled.

As seen from the abovementioned photos of the Type Rs snapped with exterior patterns, the overall rear end is fairly ambiguous considering the red tail lighting blends cohesively into the camo of the same colour. Thus the latest spy video to come out of The Land of the Rising Sun alludes to a better understanding of its aesthetic compliments of its lighting signature which spans the width of the rear.
We also have an adventurous looking body with triple exhaust outlet and a big rear wing, albeit toned down from the outgoing model. No official confirmation on power figures has been released yet but it is expected to employ a revised 2,0-litre turbo four-cylinder which in current FK8 form pushes out 228 kW. Rumours mention it being pushed up as far as 300 kW but this may be optimistic on the front-wheel drive hero from Japan.
While Honda officially announced that it would be unveiled this month, we are still waiting for a concrete date.
