Land Rover has revealed details of the 2017 Range Rover line-up – which will feature new driver assistance technology – as well as the starting price for a new SVO-fettled range-topper.
The range will include an all-new model from the brand’s Special Vehicle Operations division: the Range Rover SVAutobiography Dynamic. This newcomer is powered by a 5,0-litre supercharged V8, and builds on the long-wheelbase Range Rover SVAutobiography.
So, how much are we talking about here? Well, Land Rover South Africa says SVAutobiography Dynamic pricing will begin at R2 999 100 when it hits local shores in the first half of 2017.
This particular V8 is, of course, shared with the Range Rover Sport SVR and makes some 405 kW and 680 N.m. It is capable of powering the SVAutobiography Dynamic from zero to 100 km/h in 5,4 seconds and is paired with a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission.
New features in the range include Advanced Tow Assist, Driver Condition Monitor, Blind Spot Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control. Interior changes, meanwhile, include a new 10-inch dual-view touchscreen display and plenty of personalisation options.
We’ll have to wait until closer to the vehicle’s local introduction in 2017 to find out more about the South African range and the rest of the pricing (although we’re told the range will start at somewhere around R1,75-million).
