Move aside GR Yaris, your big brother has arrived; but now as a concept wearing a widebody kit and massive wing. This is the GR Corolla Rally Concept and its performance promises to be mesmerising.
The annual Specialty Equipment Market Association event (SEMA) is one of the largest on the automotive calendar. Independent shops, enthusiasts and automakers themselves are given a platform to demonstrate some astounding models.

Toyota has done just this with their GR Corolla Rally Concept. Sharing familiar components adapted from their World Rally Championship challenger; the mighty GR Yaris Rally WRC model, their debuted model turns styling up to eleven.
Conclusively updated with rally-inspired bodywork fashioned out of carbon fibre, the model logically is more stable at high speeds courtesy of the added surface area improving downforce. This includes new carbon composite side skirts, massive three-inch fender flares made from 20-gauge steel, a front splitter and a rear spoiler that seems as though it could serve as a park bench if it were ever removed from the car.
Within each widened corner are white OZ wheels measuring at 17-inches. These conceal a ventilated four-piston brake system which alludes to impressive stopping power for the hatch that started out as a four-door Toyota model. Unlike the four-cylinder WRC challenger, the GR Corolla Rally Concept uses the same three-pot turbo motor from the Yaris albeit with a different tune and more power. Helping the raspy motor breathe is a TRD airbox and custom exhaust system.
Inside, the model caresses its two occupants with OMP Racing seats and belts while a fire suppression system is available if things get lit. No rally concept would be complete without a roll cage and the GR Corolla Rally Concept is no exception wearing a custom full cage made from Tig welded steel.
At the moment, the GR Corolla remains under consideration for our local market but for now, marvel at the full spec sheet of the GR Corolla Rally Concept here.
