The new Land Cruiser 300 is set to be revealed at the end of this month, according to new intel first picked up by Motor1, and the range will also include a sporty GR-S variant.
What appear to be leaked official documents have appeared on an Instagram page called landcruiserupdates, and one of them appears to apply to South Africa, given the @toyota.co.za e-mail address that’s listed at the bottom. This document says that orders for the new Land Cruiser 300 were due to open on April 21 this year, while the first vehicles would be released to dealers at the end of July, although that date is subject to change.

The document also states that the ZX petrol variant will be available before the other models, with the diesels and the GR-S petrol due to land in September. Once again, we can’t vouch for the authenticity of these documents, but if they are legit then South Africans can expect to get hold of the new Cruiser a bit earlier than anticipated.
Another document shown on the same Instagram page also shows the engine range and output levels, which correlate with previously leaked information.
According to the spec sheet, there will be a 3.3-litre V6 turbodiesel offering that produces 225 kW and 700 N.m, as well as a 3.5-litre V6 turbopetrol that’s good for 305 kW and 650 N.m.

It has also been speculated that the new 3.3 diesel engine will find its way into a fully-blown GR version of the Toyota Hilux bakkie at some point in the future.
