Several film-famous No Time To Die Land Rover, Range Rover and Jaguar models will go under the hammer at Christie’s in London as part of a charitable auction to celebrate 60 years of James Bond FIlms.
For an automotive enthusiast, every new Bond film is centred more around the impeccably modified Q-classics and death defying high speed chases than top tier espionage or the beautiful foreign escorts on the arm of the world’s greatest spy. The iconic Aston Martin DB5 may be the car that started it all when it debuted in the 1964 James Bond film Goldfinger but other British automakers have since jumped aboard the bandwagon to demonstrate their creations in the 24 films since then.

From the most recent box-office hit No Time To Die; a Defender, Range Rover and Jaguar stunt car will be auctioned off to generate funds for various charities. Starting with the most significant; a stunt Defender 100 with VIN 007 used in the film and for promotional activity ahead of its release. This specific model was one of 10 Defenders used in the filming of No Time To Die and unlike some of the less fortunate that suffered roll-overs, this one will Only Live Twice. It has an estimate between £300 000 and £500 000 with the sale benefiting the British Red Cross.
Sticking with Land Rover, a Defender 110 V8 Bond Edition which was created by SV Bespoke and inspired by the Defenders of the movie will also go under the hammer with an estimate of £200 000 to £300 000. Proceeds will go to conservation charity Tusk. Only 300 of these No Time To Die inspired models were made and a total of five made it to South Africa although the one under auction has been made to UK specification.
Two other models included in the auction are one of six Range Rover Sport SVR stunt cars and one of two Jaguar XF chase cars. The former is estimated to go for between £80 000 and £120 000 while the sedan is expected to be a little bit cheaper with an estimate of £50 000 to £70 000.
Nick Collins, Executive Director Vehicle Programmes of Jaguar Land Rover, said: “Defender, Range Rover and Jaguar were in the thick of the action in No Time To Die. Each car represents a unique piece of James Bond history which we’re sure collectors will be keen to own and we are delighted to be able to support our charity partners through their sale. With such high demand for the Defender V8 Bond Edition, we are also hoping this special one-off version with the 60 years of Bond logo will attract a keen buyer.”
The famed movie vehicles will form part of an official two-part charity sale: Sixty Years of James Bond. The auction will include 35 lots spanning the twenty-five films with posters, props, costumes, memorabilia and experiences and will run from the 15th of September until the 5th of October, better known by fans as James Bond Day.
To date, Christie’s previous three 007 auctions have raised £4 812 525 (just under R100 million) with proceeds benefiting charitable causes.
