After last week’s leak, Kia has now released official images of their new Kia Sportage.
This fourth generation of their compact SUV will make its global debut on 15 September at the Frankfurt International Motor Show and it clearly signals something of a design change for Kia. Sporting an all-new front end look. The Sportage’s headlamps are no longer integrated with the grille, but now sweep back along the outer edges of the more sharply-detailed bonnet and bolder wheel arches.
The new visage, with its thinner headlamps and wider “Tiger Nose” grille flanked below by more light clusters, tiered, secondary grilles and an alloy scuff plate is describe by Kia as giving the Sportage a “a more imposing appearance and a more stable-looking stance.”
It does. It also looks a like the Jeep Cherokee, doesn’t it.
The rear styling reveals a pair of lights clearly inspired by the 2013 Kia Provo Concept, while the indicators and reversing lights are located lower down to, says Kia, “add more visual weight and a greater sense of stability to the lower half of the car”.
Details as to what lies under this new design will only be released at the Sportage’s Frankfurt debut.
