The new, sixth-generation Opel Corsa may have only just been revealed (in EV form, at least), but that hasn’t stopped a digital artist from Brazil from dreaming up an OPC flagship.
Created by Kleber Silva of São Paulo, the Corsa OPC renderings pictured above show the new hatchback with a suitably sporty bent.
Indeed, Silva has handed the five-door hatch more aggressively styled alloys (although we suspect they’d be a little larger in reality, and perhaps frame callipers of a different shade) as well as a larger grille and more sportily styled front bumper. He’s also added a fairly subtle front lip.
Round back, the rear wing is a little larger than that of the newly revealed Corsa-e, while a rear diffuser and dual tailpipes have been added. And, of course, an OPC badge has been slapped onto the bootlid. Interestingly, Silva has stopped short of handing the Corsa chunkier side-skirts.
So, is a new Corsa OPC actually on the cards? Well, back in March 2019, Opel’s CEO hinted to Auto Express the badge could be revived, with the British publication speculating an electrified Corsa OPC could arrive as early as 2021.
If a new Corsa hot hatch does see the light of day, expect it to share its (possibly electrified) powertrain with the upcoming Peugeot 208 GTi, since the two hatchbacks run on the same platform under the PSA Group banner.
