Ever thought the standard Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid, which produces a whopping 500 kW and 850 N.m of torque, is a little short on grunt? Well, you needn’t worry. You see, German firm TechArt has revealed its latest tuned Porsche, calling the Panamera-based model the “Grand GT”…
Equipped with the firm’s new 071/T1.1 Techtronic power kit, the Panamera’s 4,0-litre V8 hybrid powertrain now sends a startling 566 kW and 980 N.m to all four wheels. The tuner claims this increase in oomph is enough to propel the 971-generation Panamera from standstill to 100 km/h in a mere 3,2 seconds, before topping out at 316 km/h.
TechArt says these performance figures have been achieved thanks to “intense development and testing”, allowing the “optimal interaction” between the electric elements and petrol engine.
A valve-controlled TechArt exhaust system, complete with titanium tips and carbon-fibre jacket, provides the hot Panamera, seen here in Sport Turismo guise, with an enhanced V8 burble.
Available styling updates include a carbon-fibre bonnet, chunkier side skirts, new 22-inch alloys and, of course, suitably widened arches. Inside, you’ll find green contrast stitching and green trim on the wheel-mounted drive mode switch, mirroring the bold decals applied to the body.
