Well, this is a little unexpected. What you’re looking at here is a special-edition truck (yes, truck) wearing Renault Sport’s signature Sirius yellow paintwork. Officially called the “T High Renault Sport Racing”, just 99 examples of this big rig will be built at the Bourg-en-Bresse plant.
The T High Renault Sports Racing boasts the aforementioned yellow paint plus plenty of black trim (applied to elements such as the grille and side-mirror caps), with Renault Trucks saying the colour scheme was inspired by the French brand’s current Formula One car.
Step inside the cabin and you’ll find more racing-inspired items, such as the Recaro seats upholstered in black leather with yellow contrast stitching, and a steering wheel featuring the same sporty treatment. The panoramic dashboard, meanwhile, boasts a carbon finish plus yellow surrounds for the air-vents, and even the seatbelts gain a yellow sleeve.
The T High Renault Sport Racing draws its urge from the standard 13,0-litre turbodiesel, which delivers an unchanged 382 kW and a whopping 2 550 N.m to the wheels via an Optidriver automated transmission. An oversized hot hatch it most certainly is not…
This collaboration between Renault Sport and Renault Trucks is a particularly interesting one, considering the fact that the latter was sold to the Volvo Group way back in 2001.
