Renault South Africa has introduced a fresh Stepway Plus derivative to its local Sandero range, positioning the newcomer as the flagship of the line-up in place of the outgoing Stepway Dynamique variant.
The new Stepway Plus takes its place above the entry-level Sandero Expression and mid-spec Stepway Expression models, and boasts model-specific badging and two-tone 16-inch wheel covers. In addition, the new derivative will be available in two fresh body colours: Dune Beige and Cosmos Blue.
Priced at R206 900, the Stepway Plus offers a similar standard features list to the outgoing Dynamique model (which cost R5 000 less), including electric windows, electric side-mirrors, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, rear park assist, cruise control and a seven-inch touchscreen arrangement complete with satellite navigation.
The latest model furthermore features a reversing camera, while leather seats are offered as a R10 000 option.
As with the two other models in the range, the Stepway Plus draws its urge from a turbocharged 0,9-litre three-cylinder petrol engine, which sends 66 kW and 135 N.m to the front wheels via a five-speed manual gearbox.
A five-year/150 000 km warranty and a two-year/30 000 km service plan (with intervals of 15 000 km) come standard.
Pricing: Renault Sandero Expression: R171 900
Renault Sandero Stepway Expression: R186 900
Renault Sandero Stepway Plus: R206 900
