The rather commendable run of the Mitsubishi ASX may soon be coming to an end according to a report out of the Czech Republic. It has been suggested that the entry-level crossover from the Japanese manufacturer will see an official replacement by 2023.
Speaking to Auto.cz, Mitsubishi Czech PR Marek Vodička stated that the car has been delisted from its local website ahead of the supposed discontinuation that took place at the end of last year. He added that in recent months, only the stocks that the dealership had ordered were sold out.
“But now the last few pieces are sold out at dealers, where everything is already booked for specific customers. So it doesn’t make sense to keep a price list, configurator, etc. on the website, because we would just confuse our customers, “he says.
“Absolutely positive, we already know that the new ASX will appear in early 2023,” he promises, when asked about a replacement for the Mitsubishi ASX.
The Mitsubishi ASX has been in production since 2010. In recent years there have been speculations and rumours about a possible successor but the brand continued to update the car due to its market success across the globe. The most recent facelift came in 2019 which altered the structure of the vehicle with a brand new front design, among other updates.
The Mitsubishi ASX is still listed as an available product to order in South Africa with no word of its discontinuation in our market.
