Another month of consecutive fuel-price reductions will greet motorists visiting fuel stations from Wednesday, 2 April, 2025 after the Department of Petroleum and Mineral Resources (DMRE) confirmed a significant price slash.

- Inland Petrol Unleaded 93 – R21.51 (down from R22.09)
- Inland Petrol Unleaded 95 – R21.62 (down from R22.34)
- Coastal Petrol Unleaded 93 – R20.72 (down from R21.30)
- Coastal Petrol Unleaded 95 – R20.83 (down from R21.55)
- Inland Diesel 500 ppm – R19.32 (down from R20.16)
- Inland Diesel 50 ppm – R19.35 (down from R20.21)
- Coastal Diesel 500 ppm – R18.53 (down from R19.37)
- Coastal Diesel 50 ppm – R18.59 (down from R19.45)

These price cuts are the result of relatively lower oil prices, owing to rising supply and lower demand. In fact, the decrease was expected to be even steeper, but when US President Donald Trump threatened imposing tariffs on Venezuelan oil importers, the price of oil increased, which, in turn, lessened the decrease in fuel price.
Local economists have, however, predicted further – and substantial – decreases in the next few months, as well as the potential for interest rate cuts from the South African Reserve Bank.
