One of the highlights at the Stellantis stand was the public debut of the new Citroën C3 Aircross. This robust crossover, set to be launched in South Africa soon, is a versatile choice for those who need a reliable vehicle for multiple environments. Alfa Romeo’s hybrid Tonale stood out with its combination of a petrol engine and electric motor, offering a sporty yet eco-friendly option. This vehicle is a nod to the future, combining sustainability with performance, according to the Italian automaker.
Opel brought its Zafira Life, Vivaro Panel Van, and Combo Cargo to the festival, offering solutions for both family and business needs. The Zafira Life is made for comfortable commutes or family trips, while the Vivaro and Combo are designed for efficient cargo transport. Jeep’s range, known for its ruggedness, included models like the Gladiator Rubicon and Wrangler Rubicon, which are well-suited for the tough conditions of farm life. The luxurious Grand Cherokee was also on display, catering to those seeking a blend of comfort and capability.
Fiat showcased the charming 500 Dolcevita Cab and the practical Fiorino. While the Dolcevita adds a touch of style to the stand, the Fiorino’s impressive 2.5m3 stowage space and fuel efficiency make it an ideal choice for small businesses involved in transportation. Peugoet’s Landtrek, a double cab bakkie, was another star at the stand. This versatile vehicle is made for life on the farm, offering ample space and durability, along with a range of accessories to support both professional and family activities.
Stellantis in SA
For Stellantis, participating in the Nampo Festival is more than just showcasing their vehicles; it’s about connecting with the agricultural community and understanding their needs. Mike Whitfield, Managing Director of Stellantis South Africa, emphasized that their products are designed to support various agricultural operations, from farm work to distribution and leisure.
“This year, NAMPO resonates with Stellantis as it drives innovation in the agriculture sector,” he said. “Our own products feature the latest technologies and our range answers a variety of agricultural needs, whether on the farm, within distribution, for maintenance crews, elsewhere in the extensive value chain, or simply for leisure.”
This event is crucial for Stellantis’ growth in South Africa. By presenting its latest technologies and engaging directly with potential customers, Stellantis can strengthen its presence in the market and, potentially, drive new vehicle sales. The festival provides a unique opportunity to demonstrate how their vehicles can contribute to the efficiency and sustainability of the agricultural sector and the local automotive landscape as a whole.
