Ever wanted a Suzuki Every van that looks like a Land Rover Defender? Well now you can have just that thanks to Japanese tuner Damd, the team also responsible for the Jimny Defender kit.
The interestingly named “little D” kit will be available in the second quarter of 2022 and follows on from the company’s previous two Defender-inspired visual kits, the other two for the Suzuki Jimny and the Daihatsu Taft.
The kit consists of an unpainted bumper, round headlights with additional round units for the indicators, a large rectangular grille, a tiny bonnet, and matching front fenders. While the rest of the kei van’s bodywork remains unaltered, the iconic flat face fits in well with the Suzuki’s compact dimensions and proportions.
Launched in 2015, the current generation Suzuki Every received a mild facelift in 2021. Powered by a 660cc three-cylinder petrol motor, it sends all 47 of its kilowatts to either the rear or all four wheels via a 5-speed manual or 5-speed automatic transmission. Designed for the outdoors, Damd say that they are targeting van owners who love camping, fishing, surfing, and winter sports.
In addition to their Defender themed Every, Damd has unveiled the Suzuki Spacia “Nomad”, again targeted at those with an active lifestyle. Based on the Suzuki Spacia Gear, modifications include a redesigned grille and headlight surrounds, as well a aluminium-style bumper accents.
Again, the underpinnings remain unchanged while the modifications go a long way to make the kei car look a little more rugged, even resembling an early Toyota Land Cruiser. The flagship model in hybrid guise features a 658cc turbocharged motor, sending 47 kW to all four wheels via a CVT transmission. The Damd “Nomad” modifications will be available as soon as March 2022.
