
It’s been over three weeks since the national bus strike began, leaving frustrated commuters either stranded or stuck in heavy traffic congestion.
“Last week, employers and unions reached an agreement on wage increases. But talks stalled on the issue of back-pay, with employers saying the increases would only become effective once agreed upon officially,” says ENCA.

But, commuters can now breathe a sigh of relief as the strike has come to an end, after employers and unions finally reached an agreement over wage increases and other ‘sticky issues’ yesterday.
“Econometrix Chief Economist Azar Jamine says the wage offer the unions have agreed to is a big victory,” concludes ENCA.
