The International Scout isn’t exactly the most popular classic out there, but that hasn’t stopped the folks over at Velocity Restorations, who are best known for their Ford Bronco work, from offering its restomod version of this classic SUV at a whopping $229 000 (R3,05-million).
The special build features a custom paint job and graphics as well as a number of mechanical upgrades.
Power comes from a naturally aspirated 6,2-litre LS3 V8 (benefitting from a Concept One serpentine drive pulley system), which pushes a considerable 316 kW to all four corners through a 4670E automatic transmission. Extra stopping power is provided by a set of hydroboost Wilwood disc brakes. Front and rear sway bars are included as well, along with the obligatory suspension lift.
The International Scout has furthermore been fitted with a set of custom front and rear bumpers, orange paint and black graphics, and a four-point roll cage, all designed by Velocity Restorations. TR beadlock wheels and Nitto Trail Grappler multi-terrain 35×12 50R 17-inch tyres complete the comprehensive makeover.
Inside, the International Scout’s cabin boasts a custom dash, Dakota digital gauges and a new steering wheel, as well as a set of seats reupholstered in leather with orange contrast stitching.
