A high-ranking Toyota executive in the United States has for the second time hinted that the Japanese automaker has plans to put its FT-AC show car into production.
The boldly styled FT-AC was unveiled at the 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show, where it was billed as a “design experiment”.
And now Jack Hollis, group vice president and general manager of the Toyota division at Toyota Motor North America, has dropped a strong hint that the crossover will become a production reality within a couple of years.
Speaking to AutoGuide.com, Hollis compared the FT-AC to the concept that previewed the FJ Cruiser way back in 2005.
“Customer feedback was so strong, what did we do? Got the product out in about two years that looked almost identical to the product we brought out on stage. I would put FT-AC in a similar boat,” Hollis told the publication.
