If you’re in the market for a relatively hot version of the BMW X3, chances are you have your eye on the flagship M40i variant. But that hasn’t stopped BMW tuning specialist AC Schnitzer from going to work on derivatives further down the range.
Yes, the German tuner has given both the xDrive20d and the xDrive30d a bump in power. The 2,0-litre turbodiesel jumps from 140 kW to 163 kW, while the 3,0-litre unit increases from 195 kW to 232 kW. AC Schnitzer also offers a suspension kit that brings the X3 between 20 and 25 mm closer to the ground, while sport tailpipes are furthermore available.
In addition, a body kit offered by the firm includes a front spoiler, rear wing and chunky side-skirting (as well as the requisite AC Schnitzer badging and decals). Completing the revised look is a set of 19-inch AC1 alloy wheels, although 20- and 21-inch items are also optionally available.
Inside, the tuned X3 can be specified with a number of sporty accessories, including an aluminium cover for the iDrive controller, alloy pedals and an aluminium keyholder.
