One of Uber’s autonomous Volvo XC90s has been involved in a crash in the United States. The image above, originally posted on Twitter, shows the self-driving Volvo on its side after being taken out by the driver of the MPV, who reportedly failed to yield for the Volvo.

Uber confirmed that there was someone behind the wheel of the XC90 at the time, but it is not known whether this person was in control of the vehicle. According to the car-hailing service, nobody was seriously hurt in the crash.
The company’s self-driving programme was already under a cloud of controversy after allegations of software theft from Waymo, Alphabet Inc.’s autonomous driving project.
