The sixth-generation of the Volkswagen Polo, launched locally in 2018, is due for a facelift which we can expect to see this week based on the latest teaser. The Volkswagen Polo facelift will be kitted out with comprehensive updates to the design, technologies and specification.
Volkswagen notes that the Polo has been an integral part of the small car segment since the badge was born in 1975. It is one of the most successful models in its class on a global scale with around 18 million units having been sold to date. The German brand says it is committed to this product history which is now over 45 years and will celebrate the virtual world premier soon for the Volkswagen Polo facelift.
Over the years, the Polo has seen many variations. This includes the notchback version of the 1970s, the legendary Polo Coupe G40, trendy Cross Polo, gas-driven Polo TGI or the sporty Polo GTI. Volkswagen says it has produced pioneering, economical, sporty and sometimes unconventional Polo models over the last few decades, just like it did with the Golf.
Volkswagen managed the almost impossible in terms of design by creating a small car that is timelessly stylish but price-sensitive. The upcoming Volkswagen Polo facelift aims to continue this evolution. The sketch provided shows a new light strip and LED headlamp in the front grille to translate an optimised design.
Extensive information will soon be available once the Volkswagen Polo facelift premiers later this week. With knowledge of facelift being well-known, a couple of digital artists have already penned what they think it could look like. One boasts cues from the latest generation of the Golf while the other sources inspriation from the Nivus.
Volkswagen reiterates that as well as the design, the structure of the offering in this best-seller has also been revised. New technologies are finding their way in, instruments are becoming more digital and, thanks to greater networking, the inhabitants are “always on” – so the success story of this vehicle can continue.
