Last year we got our first look at the Tank 300; a roughed off-roader from GWM’s premium WEY brand. Adding some flare to this product is its latest Cyber Tank 300 which adds a bit of bling to increase its presence.
While sharing the same proportions as its base car, WEY has increased the aggression of the Cyber Tank 300 by adding a sporty body kit which consists of a new front and rear bumper, flared wheel arches, a wing mounted to the rear door and a square spare wheel cover. A large set of alloy wheels further uplifts the image. An array of LED lights positioned on the front and rear adds the cyberpunk ambiance, giving the retro silhouette a futuristic aura.
Within the cabin is where things start to get a bit glitzy. The Cyber Tank 300 proudly boasts an array of chrome trimmings along the dashboard, centre console, doors and steering wheel. White leather upholstery contrasts the piano black panels on the dash and doors as well as the black carpets.
What about power? The WEY Cyber Tank 300 is likely to use the same powerplant as the standard model which is a turbocharged 2,0-litre four-cylinder engine pushing 167 kW and 387 N.m of torque. This is sent to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission.
It’s also possible that WEY’s latest twin-turbo 3,0-litre V6 petrol plug-in hybrid could power the butch SUV. This would give it an output of 380 kW and 750 N.m of torque delivered to the wheels via an electric motor and nine-speed automatic transmission.
Will we see a production-ready model of the Cyber Tank 300? WEY has not yet confirmed whether this bold creation will make it onto dealership floors.
One thing is for certain. We cannot deny that there is a striking similarity between this and the current Mercedes-AMG G63.
