The new Honda BR-V launches in South Africa this week, and we’ve found pricing for the mini-SUV.
The local range will comprise five derivatives – three with manual gearboxes and two with continuously variable transmissions – across three trim levels. All models will employ Honda’s familiar 1,5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, which is worth 88 kW and 145 N.m.
The line-up starts with the Trend derivative in six-speed manual at R238 900 (which includes air-conditioning, electric windows, remote keyless entry, a four-speaker audio system and Bluetooth) and runs through to the top-spec Elegance CVT at R288 300. All models in the local range feature ABS and dual front airbags.
The Honda BR-V shares its platform with the Brio and Mobilio, rather than the HR-V (which itself runs on the Jazz platform) or the CR-V. It measures 4 455 mm long, with a wheelbase of 2 660 mm. In South Africa, it is expected to be available as a three-row seven-seater.
The mini-SUV is built in India, Indonesia and Thailand.
