The German performance car manufacturer has revealed official images and specs of the facelifted Porsche 911 ahead of the Frankfurt show.

Looks
The headlamps now feature four-point daytime running lights, there are also restyled wheels, modified door handles and a new engine cover with vertical louvres. Mildly revised taillamps now have four-point brake lights.
Interior
There aren’t too many details yet, but Porsche has confirmed the model will come with a new Porsche Communication Management System (PCM) touchscreen infotainment system. It features a seven-inch display with multi-touch gesture recognition, Apple CarPlay and wi-fi compatibility. Cars with the optional Sport Chrono package get a new four-mode switch rotary knob on the steering wheel, inspired by the 918 hypercar. From here you’ll be able to configure the vehicle set up with adjustments on Porsche’s Active Suspension Management that’s now standard (four driving modes: “Normal”, “Sport”, “Sport Plus” and “Individual”), the PDK transmission and sports exhaust possible.
Powertrain
The biggest changes are under the skin of which is confirmation of a new twin-turbo 3.0-litre six-cylinder engine that’s good for 272 kW and 450 N.m of torque in the Carrera. The Carrera S receives the same engine but is tuned to deliver 309 kW and 500 N.m. Equipped with the PDK transmission and the Sport Chrono Package, both cars boast quicker 0-100 km/h sprint times than their predecessors (4,2 and 3,9 seconds respectively).
Don’t worry, say Porsche, the traditional flat-six character hasn’t been lost and these cars will rev to 7 500 r/min limit. And despite the improved performance, the models are approximately 12 percent more efficient than their predecessors.
Other new and improved features include:
:: An adaptive cruise control with a coasting function, that can also brake when going downhill to keep you at your pre-set speed
:: An optional Adaptive Cruise Control system with a coasting function (when equipped with the PDK transmission)
:: An optional lane change assistant system that warns the driver about vehicles in their blind spots.
:: A standard post-collision braking system.
The new 911 will go on sale in Europe in December and will start at 96 605 euros- a marginal (average 3,5%) increase. There are no details yet on the SA prices and availability.
