The folks over at CarWow have put together a drag race featuring two standard (rather than high-performance) coupés: the Audi A5 40 TFSI and the BMW 420i.
As a reminder, the A5 40 TFSI Coupé (priced from R751 000 here in South Africa) employs a turbocharged 2,0-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine, sending 140 kW and 320 N.m to the front axle via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
The 420i (starting at R796 438 locally), meanwhile, uses an engine of the same displacement and configuration, but with slightly lower peak outputs of 135 kW and 300 N.m. In addition, the BMW is rear-driven and uses an eight-speed torque-converter gearbox.
