A fresh report claims mass production of the new BMW M3 will commence in November 2020.
According to BMWBlog, the Munich-based firm will start full-scale production of the new G80-generation M3 in the eleventh month of 2020, with deliveries for initial markets likely starting only in the second quarter of 2021.
For the record, the F80-generation M3 quietly left the Bavarian firm’s South African line-up in November 2018 after nearly 35 000 units were built for global markets.
In November 2019, BMW M CEO Markus Flasch confirmed manual versions of the new M3 would be offered in rear-wheel-drive configuration only, while all-paw variants (including the flagship Competition derivatives) would employ a torque-converter automatic transmission as standard.
The month prior, Flasch confirmed the new M3 was set to hit showrooms only in 2021, although added the Munich-based firm “would have the most powerful engine in the segment”.
A new M4 coupé, of course, will join the fresh-faced M3 sedan and has already been previewed in M4 GT3 form…
