VW to replace Cross Polo with fresh ‘T-Sport’ model, says report…

By: CAR magazine

A report out of India suggests Volkswagen will replace its Cross Polo with a new small crossover slotting in below the T-Cross and wearing the “T-Sport” badge.

According to IndiaCarNews, the new model will target global markets, likely starting with Brazil in 2020, and feature the obligatory black plastic cladding and raised ride height.

Like the T-Cross, the T-Sport is expected to ride on the Volkswagen Group’s MQB A0 platform, which is shared with the Polo.

The report claims the T-Sport will have its own personality rather than simply being a variant of the Polo range (as was the case with the Cross Polo), with an earlier rumour out of Brazil even suggesting it could employ a coupé-like body style.

Interestingly, the newcomer is expected to be built alongside the Polo and T-Cross at Volkswagen’s plant in Navarra, Spain.
