The team that is synonymous with keeping its secretive machinery under wraps has had its 2022 challenger leaked only a day ahead of its launch and if it goes as good as it looks, it might contend for the lucrative title after a demoralising dry spell during the hybrid era. Say hello to the pretty Scarlet Red Ferrari F1-75.
The most successful team to compete in Formula 1 has experienced a 14 year long slump with only glimmers of hope fueling the famous tifosi in these dark years when Sebastian Vettel came close to toppling Mercedes dominance in 2018, but it wasn’t meant to be. The regulation change for 2022 which is set to even the playing field and make for better wheel-to-wheel racing has the Maranello based outfit in for a shout by pundits in what many hope will be another season between the Prancing Horse and McLaren.
The team with consistent talents in Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz will be officially revealing their the F1-75 2022 challenger later on today but images of the Scarlet Red Ferrari have already circulated the internet after an intentional leak.
In what seems to be a 1990s inspired red livery shown in the image, the Scuderia have also posted a teaser video of their two drivers reacting to seeing the new challenger with overalls that correspond to the black and red theme. While just about every team that has revealed their challenger for the season have provided drool-worthy livery designs, this might be the best so far although it may change after final tests conclude in Bahrain.
In typical Italian fashion, Monégasque Leclerc remarks “mamma mia!” after first laying eyes on what he will be piloting this season while teammate Sains stated that the new Ferrari creation is “innovative to the max” further reiterating that it’s more confident-inspiring to drive than anything before.
