Three young drivers have each been given the keys to a BMW E46 as part of an initiative for local driver empowerment and a team development programme.

BMW South Africa has made it a mission to contribute towards transformation in local motorsport with an initiative allowing young talent to come through the ranks with official assistance. During the National Extreme Festival at Kyalami in April, a trio of young drivers were handed the keys to race-prepared E46 BMWs to prove their mettle in the BMW M Performance Parts Race Series.

Announced at BMW M Fest in October 2024, the brand’s partnership with Pablo Clark Racing is panning out just as it was intended. Serving as a collaboration between BMW South Africa and NGK Pablo Clark Racing to support and develop a new generation of homegrown talent, the programme combines Pablo Clark Racing’s engineering expertise and BMW’s endorsement and resource pool, which enables the aspirational racing drivers with a launchpad into future endeavours. The three of them all contribute to BMW’s first locally supported academy initiative. The BMW M Performance Parts Race Series, managed by the BMW Car Club Gauteng and sanctioned by Motorsport South Africa, pits a variety of BMW machinery against each other across five time-based classes.
