The event, taking place from the 18th of June 2024, will have Ford bringing the all-new F-150 Lightning electric vehicle demonstrator bakkie to the Colorado Springs location. The model, numbered 150 follows Ford’s electric SuperVan which ascended the route in 2023 and more recently broke a record in the Land Down Under, at the Mount Panorama circuit.
Similar to the SuperVan, it is expected that the bakkie will feature a high-performance electric powertrain (potentially even the same one from the van), bespoke bodywork and a custom frame keeping everything together, only representing the production model on which it shares a badge with. More details on its release can be expected closer to the event.

The Pikes Peak International Hill Climb will remarkably be run for the 102nd occasion this year, with manufacturers entering the event as a demonstration of new models and technology in more recent years. In 2023, BMW with its XM Super SUV, entered up the 19.99 km track and suffered a serious rollover crash, attesting to the inherent dangers on the road course which features 156 turns and climbs 1 440 m from its start the Mile 7 on the Pikes Peak Highway all the way to the chequered flag at the summit.
