Mini is heading back to the Nürburgring for the 53rd running of the 24 Hours endurance race and will once again partner with the Bulldog Racing Team. Last year, the near-production #317 MINI John Cooper Works Pro clinched a class win in SP-3T, and the team is hoping to repeat that success in 2025. The Nürburgring (popularised as the “Green Hell” for a brutal mix of racing’s most feared strips of tarmac) is a test of man and machine chasing the limit.

Unlike before, the Mini being raced will arrive with some extra flair after a collaboration with Deus Ex Machina has resulted in this monochromatic but bold livery. The bespoke black-and-white livery features a bold “DEUS” logo and plenty of hand-drawn elements. The design effort is a team-up between Mini Design and BMW’s Designworks studio, which helped translate Deus Ex Machina’s signature style into something track-ready. The whole exercise hints at more to come from the Mini x Deus partnership, which is being positioned as a creative playground rather than a one-off branding exercise.

The Bulldog Racing Team will also be dressed head-to-toe in Deus-branded gear for the race in what looks like some of the snazziest pit gear likely to ever be seen on a live race track but it is the near-stock John Cooper Works model that will be where the cameras focus on. The sketchbook-inspired livery employs the BMW-sourced four-cylinder TwinPower Turbo petrol engine. As per South African standard time, the event will kick off on Saturday, 21 June 2025 at 4:00 pm and conclude the same time the following day.
