Kicking off yesterday, the famed Simola Hillclimb will continue up until the 4th of May 2025 in Knysna, Western Cape. Before the champagne and celebrations ensue, there will be plenty of full-fat motorsport for South Africans and global viewers alike to enjoy. First up is Classic Car Friday (2 May), where 65 vintage vehicles tackle the 1.9 km course. Alfas, Minis, Fords, Chevs and more! from pre-war and post-war eras will attempt to claim the coveted Classic Conqueror title. The day culminates in a Top 10 Shootout to crown the fastest classic car.

Once the legends of yesteryear leave their (tyre) mark, it will then be time for the King of the Hill (3–4 May). Throughout the weekend, 84 competitors across various classes will battle for supremacy. Volkswagen have enticed seven-time World Rallycross Champion Johan Kristoffersson to make his debut in an all-electric 500 kW Polo RX1e as a fan favourite spectacle. The event concludes with a final shootout on Sunday at 14:00 (GMT+2) to determine the ultimate King of the Hill. OEMs, privateers and performance artists will take to the strip to prove their mettle. Included are Alfa Romeo, Suzuki, Mercedes-Benz and BMW, with Mini making a Simola debut too.
