The (exceedingly quiet) LMP1 grid has another contender. Yes, TVR and Rebellion have confirmed their joint entry into the World Endurance Championship for the 2018-2019 season. The team will make its debut at the WEC Prologue event at Circuit Paul Ricard.
TVR says its partnership with Rebellion will aid its development of future road- and racing cars.
“Our partnership with Rebellion Racing allows us to achieve that goal, while bringing about valuable operational and technical knowledge, which directly transfers to our road car operation and future racing activities,” said TVR chairperson, Les Edgar.
TVR will essentially serve as an automotive partner after Rebellion teased its Oreca R-13 Prototype design at the Geneva Motor Show in March.
Edgar also states that TVR and Rebellion have a long-standing relationship and that he is confident the partnership will see success in the WEC. Other providers to the project include Gibson engines, Motul lubricants and Champagne Carbon.
