Based on first impressions, the new Yaris, with its vastly improved quality, decent standard specification levels and Toyota’s reputation for reliability, looks set to compete for top honours once again.
Next month, Toyota will launch one of its most important volume sellers on the local market, the new Yaris hatch. Showed for the first time to the South African media and public at the current Johannesburg International Motor Show (JIMS), it seems the new Yaris will offer two engines during its initial launch period.
Toyota has released images and limited technical details of its forthcoming third-generation Yaris. The car is set for European introduction in the fourth quarter and, according to the local importers, should be available in South Africa before year-end.
